Janata Bank PLC. Merchant App (JB Merchant)


This Privacy Policy explains how Janata Bank PLC. collects, uses, stores, processes, protects, and shares Merchant information while providing services through the JB Merchant App.

By logging in to the JB Merchant App using the registered mobile number and PIN, or by using any service of the app, the Merchant confirms acceptance of this Privacy Policy.

  1. Janata Bank PLC. may collect Merchant information during registration, login, QR payment acceptance, transaction processing, settlement, reporting, support, verification, and service management.
  2. The collected information may include business name, owner or authorized person details, registered mobile number, email address, business address, bank account information, merchant ID, QR information, documents, and other service-related information.
  3. Janata Bank PLC. may collect transaction data, balance information, settlement records, refund records, reversal records, chargeback information, dispute details, and app usage records.
  4. The JB Merchant App may collect device information, login activity, IP address, access time, app activity, technical logs, and other usage-related information for security, monitoring, and service improvement.
  5. Merchant information may be used for app operation, payment processing, QR payment acceptance, settlement, reconciliation, refund, reversal, chargeback handling, dispute management, reporting, and customer support.
  6. Merchant information may also be used for KYC verification, due diligence, fraud prevention, risk assessment, transaction monitoring, audit, regulatory reporting, and compliance with applicable laws and Bangladesh Bank guidelines.
  7. Janata Bank PLC. may use the Merchant’s registered mobile number, email, app notification, SMS, IVR call, agent call, or other approved communication channel to send service-related notices, alerts, confirmations, instructions, and updates.
  8. The Merchant is responsible for providing accurate, complete, valid, and updated information. Janata Bank PLC. shall not be responsible for any issue caused by false, incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information provided by the Merchant.
  9. If there is any change in business information, ownership, contact number, email, bank account, business address, or other important information, the Merchant must inform Janata Bank PLC. or the concerned support team immediately.
  10. Janata Bank PLC. will take reasonable technical, administrative, and operational measures to protect Merchant information from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
  11. The Merchant is responsible for keeping the registered mobile number, PIN, device, OTP, and login credentials safe and confidential. Any activity performed using the Merchant’s credentials may be treated as authorized by the Merchant.
  12. Janata Bank PLC. may use Merchant information and transaction records to detect, prevent, investigate, and report suspicious, fraudulent, unauthorized, illegal, or non-compliant activities.
  13. Janata Bank PLC. may share necessary Merchant information with Bangladesh Bank, regulators, law enforcement agencies, courts, auditors, payment networks, acquiring banks, payment service providers, technology partners, or other competent authorities where required for legal, regulatory, audit, compliance, risk management, service operation, or dispute handling purposes.
  14. Janata Bank PLC. may share necessary Merchant information with authorized service providers or technology partners only for operating, maintaining, processing, verifying, supporting, or improving the JB Merchant App and related payment services.
  15. If any third-party payment channel, wallet, PSP, value-added service, or external service is used through the JB Merchant App, necessary Merchant information may be shared with the relevant authorized service provider for onboarding, transaction processing, settlement, compliance, and support purposes.
  16. Janata Bank PLC. will keep Merchant information confidential and will not disclose it to any unauthorized person or organization, unless such disclosure is required for service operation, legal, regulatory, audit, compliance, risk management, or security purposes.
  17. Merchant information, transaction records, login logs, settlement records, documents, and related data may be stored and retained for as long as required for service operation, legal compliance, audit, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, regulatory reporting, and record-keeping purposes.
  18. Janata Bank PLC. may store Merchant information in secured systems, databases, servers, cloud platforms, or approved technology platforms used for JB Merchant App operation and related payment services.
  19. The Merchant may request correction or update of incorrect or outdated information through the approved support or communication channel, subject to verification and Janata Bank PLC.’s policy.
  20. Janata Bank PLC. may restrict, suspend, or terminate JB Merchant App access if there is any data mismatch, suspicious activity, security concern, incomplete information, non-cooperation, legal issue, regulatory risk, or violation of applicable policy.
  21. The JB Merchant App may contain integrations with authorized third-party service providers. Janata Bank PLC. shall not be responsible for the privacy practices, service failure, delay, disruption, or actions of unauthorized third-party platforms.
  22. Janata Bank PLC. may update, revise, or change this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version may be published through the JB Merchant App, website, SMS, email, notice, or any other approved communication channel.
  23. Continued use of the JB Merchant App after any update shall mean that the Merchant accepts the revised Privacy Policy.
  24. By using the JB Merchant App, the Merchant confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed that Janata Bank PLC. may collect, use, verify, store, process, retain, and share Merchant information as described in this Privacy Policy.
